Well, somehow, it’s something about men, isn’t that right? In my humble experience I came to the conclusion that a woman is not fully entitled to such definition of survivor until she has a man around her. It is not necessary the man to be the best lover, the one full of affection, the perfect prince charming with the best combination of loving spirit and “manly attitude”, but it is just the man to struggle for. Not even the one who loves her, but the one good enough to want her and responds to her needs. As long as she is a woman, she will need things like affection, attention, support and other. This man is at least the one worth waking up in the morning to wear some make up, to look nice, but also cook some breakfast and then run to work. All in an hour.
I survive if I do not loose myself in any relationship, but always remember my dreams and keep my will and power to enjoy life. I survive if I still have wishes and expectations from life, and not just drift sadly from one day to another. I survive if I feel my life is flowing naturally among all blessings of the universe, and I do not have to hold on to them painfully to discover more pain in the future. I survive if I manage to keep my health despite all emotionally difficulties and pains in life, but for the sake of cherishing my body and mind. I survive if always keep in mind what is important in my own life and not take upon myself the guilt of not being perfect and making mistakes. I survive if I learn as I go along my path, and not forget the precious lessons God is giving me. I survive if I can recognize the love in my life and be grateful for it, as well as if I can recognize the lack of it and move away from the emptiness of any relationship without real love. I survive if I accept myself, my past and my future, no matter what it holds for me.
I am a survivor if I can hold on every day to this statements and if I just have the courage to stick to it. Will you be a survivor today?
