Who has not felt the need to take a relaxing bath after a difficult challenging day of work or maybe during a rough time in their lives? Humans can trick many of their problems and get new senses of energies with the things that were left on this earth to enjoy in simplicity and without negative feelings. The warm feeling of the hot water embracing the skin is one of these free gifts. How to make it always a unique healing experience has somehow been a question to ask for many centuries. Here are some ideas to be always considered when preparing not just a simple bath, but a treatment session with the self:
· Ambient – it is not just about the touch sense to think about, but all others could be joyed in a relaxing experience. For the hearing senses, put on some relaxing music, mostly considering preferences, but should be southing and not agitating the soul. It could be a chill out music, jazz, classical music, whatever the soul longs for. In some circumstances, a more consuming music to listen to, and maybe live it, could help accept some things in life more easily. · Place - of course, the space is also important, it should provide the sense of safety, it should be comfortable to stay in and it is important not to have external factors interfering. Nothing more in particular. For the smell, use aromatherapy candles or essential oils. The most relaxing choices are: chamomile, lavender, ylang-ylang. Some drops of oil can just be added in the water for a longer smell in the air;
· Light – strong neon light is not going to do the trick for relaxation. It is advised to just turn off the lights and use as many candles as possible, but not more than 10, in different colors, shapes and smells. The light of candle has also the effect to burn on a subtle level all the energetic imbalances in the body;
· Bubbles – for some reason, this is also on the top of list for people wanting a relaxing bath. Maybe it is because it brings out the long forgotten child, the bubbles help us get a feeling of easiness in life, like problems can just pass exactly as a bruise in the childhood, as we used to forget things much easier. Therefore, use any bubble maker available in the bath;
· Taste – this is also a sense that can join the single party and be a well esteemed guest. It is first a question of preference, but what more can be relaxing that to have a glass of wine, or a herbal tea. Possibilities are unlimited, as long as noting is at extremes;
· Activity – Sometimes the healing process can be supported by having next a beautiful novel, a philosophy book that brings up reflections and connections to particular moments and milestones in life. The most recent book I found interacting to have next has been the C.S. Lewin, the “Great Divorce”. Here is an interesting quote to reflect on “If it would help you, and if it were possible, I would go down with you into hell; but you cannot bring hell into me…I cannot love a lie. I cannot love the thing which is not. I am in Love, and out of it I will not go. “
Another idea than can be useful is to write down on a journal particular thoughts of the day or period, in the attempt to organize, structure thoughts and feelings and, hopefully, take decisions with open heart. In other circumstances, none of these should be forced, as things in life have the beauty of unfolding themselves as it is best for the human, always evolving, and always going further. It is the act of loving and forgiveness for the self that makes the difference, in the end. Therefore, treat yourself with a nice warm bath when the moment is best for such a simple, intimate experience with the spirit in you.
